  • Apply mixture to your wet hair .
  • Let the mask soak in for about 35-40 minutes.
  • Rinse your hair in warm water and then follow up with sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

3. Washing with hot water

You must need some hot showers to feel better during colder months, but don’t forget that hot water can damage your hair and cause excessive and unatural hair loss, Whether it’s hot or cold, extreme temperatures sucks the moisture from your strands. causing dehydration, frizz, dullness and ultimately hair breakage.

Solution: Rinsing your hair with midly warm water helps to maintain hair health without freezing you out of the shower and it won’t cause further dryness.

4. Too much alcohol in your products

Hairsprays, heat protecting sprays, texture sprays and even salt sprays are all contains alcohol that you can’t afford to use too much of in the winter. The worst alcohols include propanol, isopropyl alcohol (or isopropanol), denatured alcohol (or alcohol denat) ethanol (or ethyl alcohol), and benzyl alcohol which can strip moisture from your hair.

Solution: Try to not use products containing those ingredients or just relace them with products laded with alcohols that are known to help with moisture such as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, myristyl, behenyl and lauryl alcohols.

5. You’re not trimming your hair

You have to trim your hair once in a while if you want to keep it looking shiny and strong during the winter. But, how often exactly? There’s no one right answer because it all depends on your hair, if the ends of your hair are visibly damaged or not.
